“This is, in a way, a description of the last few years spent far from home. An attempt to understand the meaning of the word “home”.”
Rest is the musical project by pianist, composer & bandleader Kirill Kretsu. After meeting in Hamburg and refining their sound as a band, the four musicians found their peace playing and creating together.
The group creates immersive compositions where the roots of American traditional music meet modern refinement and genuine emotion.
“Thinking about home, I remembered that my father often listened to recordings by Bob Dylan, George Jones, and other country musicians, so I decided to try combining the knowledge I gained in Hamburg while studying jazz , blues and gospel traditions, with the warm and pleasant character of country music that I’ve listened to since my childhood.”
