Christiansen/Petratos/Deyß
New Album “Sund”
releases March 2027
“Sund” is the new album by the Hamburg-based trio featuring Moritz Christiansen (sax), Alex Petratos (drums), and Anton Deyß (guitar). Recorded in Reykjavik following a five-concert tour around Iceland, the album seamlessly blends Scandinavian jazz with ambient and experimental elements. “Sund” will be released in March 2027 on Silberhall Records, accompanied by a release tour through Germany and Scandinavia.
“Sund” is the Icelandic word for swimming and describes an important part of Icelandic culture: gathering in hot outdoor baths. The album is thus characterized by expansive sounds, inspired by Icelandic nature and the weightless sensation of swimming. The compositions are written by all three band members and showcase their diverse musical perspectives, which blend together in their interplay to form a unified soundscape. Between free-form passages, clear melodies, and open soundscapes, the trio creates music that thrives on improvisation and interaction. SUND is an invitation to drift and immerse yourself in the moment between composition and improvisation.
